The daughter's home, the cookie orders are all delivered, the presents are wrapped and the turkey is brining. Just one more day at the grocery store, and then hopefully the madness will end! (Working retail seems to take the magic out of the season.)
Now, if I can keep Squirt kitty out of the tree. He just this morning discovered that it might be fun to play with. (I imagine it's because there are presents under it now.) The tree may come down tomorrow night!
Merry Christmas, all!

Sainsbury's OFFICIAL Christmas advert 2016 -The Greatest Gift
If we had Sainsbury's here, I'd shop there, just because I love their commercials!

Things I Found--Pre-Xmas Addition
Christmas shopping, for the most part, is done. I spent an hour or two on "Cyber Monday" on a couple of sites and got the bulk of what I needed, which wasn't much. A handful of presents for the daughter, son and hubby. We got out of the "present madness" a few years back and quit buying for extended family that we don't see anyway. Christmas is simple at our house.
But there is still plenty of Christmas Spirit!

Halloween Is Over
I've always loved Christmas, but right at this moment I think I would be happy to just skip it. Oh, I'm sure I wouldn't, but I would love to keep it very simple. Which may happen. I'm sure Squirt is going to see a Christmas tree as one big kitty toy, so we may not even put one up. The same goes for most of my holiday decorations. Cat toys, all. And the gift giving is going to be, by necessity, limited. I think I'm just dreading cold weather, to be honest! I used to love this time of year; cuddling up with a throw blanket and a cup of hot chocolate and a book. I'm dreading losing my lounge chair on the deck in the sun with a cold beer in my hand.
Where was I going with this? Oh, yeah. I just ran out to Dollar General for fabric softener and there is Christmas stuff all over the place. I'm surprised they weren't playing Christmas music! Let the holiday's commence!

Morning Coffee, The Christmas Edition
We will never replace our beloved Jinx, but for the first time in 35 years, my husband was catless. So I decided to surprise him with kittens for Christmas. I couldn't have done it without my kids-- they picked them up from the Humane Society Tuesday afternoon while I was at work, sneaked them into the house (while he was home) and my daughter kept them hidden in her bedroom.
I'm not sure how, but we managed to keep it a secret. I was sure he knew something was up, but apparently we did well. He had no idea! I think I just earned the "wife of the year" award!
So I introduce to you Squirt (the tabby) and Pip (the black short-hair)!
I think the Christmas trees are coming down soon!

Merry Christmas!
I can't believe it's here. This year has been a wild ride and I really hope the road winds even more in 2014. I can't wait to see what's behind the next turn!
May the coming year be full of joy in the small things, peace in your spirit and love to surround you. May your highs be many and your lows be few! My love to you all! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
