This has been all over every social media site I follow for the last few days, so I'd be really surprised if you haven't seen it yet. But I'm going to post it, anyway, just because it's so sweet and deserves all the love!

Killing Me Softly With His Song

I kind of developed a thing for anime and manga a couple of years ago, and I stumbled onto Killing Stalking in mid-February while I was home battling the flu. It's a Korean manwha and I'm completely hooked. It's totally disturbing! It's about a young man who breaks into the home of the man he's obsessed with and has been stalking, only to find he's a serial killer. And he gets caught. Things get bazaar. I know! Right? I like to read the comments fans leave. Some call it a romance (which it definitely is not!) while others talk about the psychology of the piece (which is where my interest lies). The thing is, I'm reading a translation, and I've found that different sites have slightly different takes. I haven't gone back to compare some of the translations, but the one I've been reading has the lyrics to "Killing Me Softly With His Song" throughout the comic. I would love to know if the author really has incorporated that into her story or if it was creative license by the translator.

I would also love to get the song out of my head. I think it's going to be stuck there for awhile!

I love holding hands. The husband... not so much. He will for short times, a quick squeeze and release, usually. He actually held my hand through the whole of a friend's wedding last year and then said later it was the nicest wedding he'd ever been to. So, yeah. Holding hands is nice. And everyone should feel comfortable doing it. Which is why I appreciate the idea behind this ad from the Australian Bank ANZ. Read about it [here].

Guinness advert - "Men and women shouldn't live together"

I was doing research on "dance club fashions of 1995" and this popped up. How, why? Who knows how the internet decides what we want to see. But this is brilliant! An advert from 1995 that shows a couple facing the trials of living together-- way ahead of it's time! But because of a back-lash by anti-gay groups, it was never shown. Which is too bad. It's a good ad!

Buggles - Video killed the radio star 1979

33 Years ago today this video launched MTV. We didn't have it in our little town, it was a few more years before our cable carried it. But one of my friend's had grandparents with a satellite, so we would go spend time at their house, and watch it there. It was the kick-off to the '80's; it's music, it's clothes, it's attitude! (We really did just want to have fun!) I was married with a  two month old baby when 1990 rolled around, but the first 3/4ths of the decade was one wild ride!

Coffee! Coffee!

Me, this morning! Why is it, when I have a day off and could sleep in, I can't! I even sat up late last night, writing. And I'm no good at napping. It's going to be a long day!

Customer Service: It Gets Worse-- A Little Morning Humor (or is it?)

My husband and I both believe every person should have to work customer service for a couple of years! I about fell out of my chair when the girl mentions hoping the cafe catches fire-- I have that fantasy quite often! Funny and true, all at the same time!

Bach With an 80's Flair!

I absolutely love Felicia Day, and I think Tom Lenk is hilarious  I was "introduced" to both actors through "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and have followed their careers ever since. I miss the early MTV style videos, they were so awesome, and horrible, and delightful, and imaginative, and ridiculous all at the same time. (Actually, I just miss the early MTV! Where have all of the videos gone?)

I admit a little self indulgence here. This is scenes and pictures I put together from my niece's wedding. It's done with a little Flip camera so it's shaky.  My brother and his family live 5 States away and I get nostalgic for the days when he was in a band and it seemed like we were always surrounded by music in one form or another. I used to dance all of the time. Since my husband doesn't dance, I don't anymore, either. I miss it. So, instead of taping the wedding like most normal people would do, I taped the dancing and the singing.
